Adoption Information

The purpose of Calico Junction Horse Rescue is to rehabilitate and then place our rescues in responsible and loving homes.  We also allow adoptions to suitable homes to finish the rehabilitation of some of our rescues.  If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues requiring further rehabilitation, please let us know and we will explain in detail what steps must be taken.

The process of adoption involves knowledge of both the horse to be placed, and the prospective adopter. It is of the utmost importance to insure we place our rescues in homes where they will receive necessary food, water, shelter and veterinary care.  It is our desire to place our rescues in the best place possible to insure their future care and comfort.

Please be sure you are ready and able to adopt before applying.  Suitable facilities for equines include an all weather shelter, safe fencing, access to clean water at all times and the financial ability to appropriately care for the adopted animal.   If you have any questions regarding whether you currently have suitable facilities to care for an adoption, please let us know.  We ask adopting homes provide photos of where the adopted animal(s) will be kept.  If you believe you do not at this time have a suitable facility but want to assist our rescue efforts, please feel free to donate to Calico Junction Horse Rescue.  Please click on the donation button below for further information.

Adoption Fee Options:

    a.      Donation of $150 per animal or;

    b.      Donated items valued at equal or greater the amount of $150 Calico Junction Horse Rescue may need at time of adoption.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding the adoption process and future care.

Please remember, your adoption fee goes to help other rescues.
Fees are based on the amount of time, training
and veterinarian bills on each animal.
